Keywords:
Sufism, Malfoozaat, Prophetic Sunnah, Islamic spirituality, Sirah al-NabawiAbstract
The services and teachings of the Sufi saints in Islamic history are still invaluable. These master’s not only put the Shariah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in their lives but also showed their disciples the way. Sufi teachings come from the Quran, Sunnah and the biography of the Prophet and its recorded sayings (malfoozaat) his blessed life. These utterances are a whole spiritual, moral and intellectual system based on the noble example of the Prophet. For Sufis the Prophet was not only a lawgiver but the ultimate in human and spiritual perfection. Great masters such as Ali al-Hujwiri, Khwaja Nizamuddin, Imam al-Ghazali and Mujaddid Alf-i-Sani held the Prophetic Sunnah to be the foundation of Sufism. This research is an attempt to study the reflection of the Prophet's character, his worship, his social behavior and his missionary aspect in his malfoozaat. The article is an invitation to the contemporary humanity to go back to the biography of the Prophet, as this has been done through history by Sufi masters.
