Abstract
Islam had a profound impact on Andalusian women, granting them a privileged status in Andalusian society. Andalusian women enjoyed social, cultural, and religious freedom, setting them apart from women in Eastern societies. Andalusian women began receiving education from a young age, learning the Holy Quran, Arabic, arithmetic, and calligraphy, which contributed to their brilliance in Islamic studies, literature, and poetry.
In addition to the fact that Andalusian women participated in many social and cultural activities, and excelled in fields such as medicine, pharmacy, astronomy, and history. This reflects their active role in Andalusian society, as they enjoyed equality with men in many aspects. From this standpoint, I wrote this research entitled (The Impact of Islam on Andalusian Women), which sheds light on Islam’s view of women who contributed greatly to the development of Andalusia. The research came in two chapters: The first was about Muslim women in Andalusia, freedom and its impact on the creativity of Andalusian women. As for the second, the choice fell on some Andalusian women who were characterized by literary and scientific creativity, and then the impact of this creativity on the development of Andalusia. The research came out with results that were presented in detail with sources and references.
