The Holy Qur’an, as the final revelation from Allah Almighty, embodies an infinite reservoir of knowledge, wisdom, and divine secrets within its letters and words. Each Qur’anic expression reflects a miraculous linguistic and semantic precision that continually opens new avenues of reflection, contemplation, and insight. As the Kitāb Mubīn, the Qur’an stands unparalleled in its structure and eloquence, being the sacred word of Allah, the All-Mighty and the All-Wise.Those who denied the Qur’an and labeled it asāṭīr al-awwalīn were challenged to produce a book, ten verses, or even a single verse comparable to it, yet they failed, thereby affirming the Qur’an’s inimitable nature. Classical and contemporary exegetes have extensively highlighted various dimensions of Qur’anic miracle, including the profound wisdom underlying its precise choice of singular and plural forms. Each instance of singular or plural usage carries a distinct rationale, interpretive justification, and miraculous aspect.This article focuses on Ṣafwat al-Tafāsīr, a renowned Qur’anic exegesis authored by Shaykh Muḥammad ʿAlī al-Ṣābūni, distinguished for its clarity, conciseness, and comprehensive approach. One of the primary objectives of this tafsīr was to cultivate Qur’anic understanding among the youth through an engaging, accessible, and intellectually responsive style aligned with contemporary needs. Within this framework, the study examines the wisdom and interpretive insights related to the Qur’an’s use of singular and plural expressions, as presented in Ṣafwat al-Tafāsīr, highlighting an important aspect of Qur’anic linguistic miracle.
