Islam is not just a theoretical religion but it is a complete code of life in such a way that Islam covers all aspects of life and Islam is the only religion acceptable to Allah. Allah sent His prophets at different times to convey His messages to the people. The last link in this chain is Hazrat Muhammad, peace be upon him and one of the purposes of sending the Prophet Muhammad is to purify the soul. Apart from this, by looking at the collection of hadiths, we find many hadiths about purification, charity and asceticism. The part of Shariat which is related to the inner actions is Sufism and the part which is related to the outer actions is called Fiqh. Its subject, refinement of morals and purpose, is the pleasure of God and the means of attaining it is to follow the orders of the Shari'ah completely as if Sufism is the name of the soul or perfection of religion. Therefore, Sufism is not absolutely against religion and Shari'ah rather it is necessary for every Muslim to become a Sufi. The painters of the practical picture of the universality of Islam are the scholars of Islam who also discussed the esoteric aspects of Islam whether it was related to interpretations of the Qur'an or the hadiths of Muhammad (PBUH). The tree of Sufism in the subcontinent has been watered by the sweat of thousands of Sufis. Mufti Ahmed Yar Khan Naimi is a very important person in this regard whose knowledge contributed to the basic knowledge of the subcontinent. He has interpreted the Qur'an in a very sophisticated manner in which the Sufi commentary on each verse and related topic has been described which is the specialty of his commentary.
